Alistair Coutts, Senior Vice President – USA is celebrating 25 years working for Seatronics joining the company in January 1991. With 35 years’ experience in the industry, primarily in the Oil & Gas subsea construction, ROV, hydrographic survey & oceanographic markets, Alistair's strong sales and business development background has seen him develop international markets with a focus on Europe, Brazil and the USA.
Alistair began working for the company previously known as Scantron, when the organization consisted of a total of 4 employees. Alistair was involved with technical sales, service and support rising to become Operations Director.
The company was bought by Craig Group in October 1999 along with a number of small rental companies worldwide creating Seatronics as we know it now. The company was then acquired by the Acteon Group in July 2007 growing quickly over this period to become the largest subsea electronic equipment rental company in the world.
Since 2008 in his role as Global Business Development Manager he successfully made contact, and started building relations, with the US & Brazil client base resulting in significant business growth and assisted in the creation of Seatronics’ new Brazilian operating base in Macaé, RJ. With the company expanding Alistair then relocated with his wife Valerie in 2013 to Houston becoming Senior Vice President – USA.
Throughout his 25 years employment with Seatronics he worked profoundly on subsea construction and survey solutions to the primary subsea contractors using the latest advances in underwater fibre optic technologies, acoustic positioning and navigation systems. Covered bids, tenders up to £2.5M and been involved with long term frame agreement negotiations with major clients. Alistair focused his time on working with industry customers to assist with the development and construction of their subsea oilfield projects, providing them with the most appropriate high specification technology or equipment available. Additionally building relationships with commercial buyers, technical specialists and upper level management with both oil exploration operators and subsea engineering customers to create market intelligence and influence equipment sales and rental.
Alistair is a family man, he has been married to Valerie for 29 years and has two daughters, Emma & Kimberley. He enjoys playing golf and watching most sports especially football (played with the feet). Alistair likes to travel and has been fortunate to visit some wonderful locations throughout his time at Seatronics and has made many international friends along the way!
